Military and Veterans Appreciation Week

This year kicks off NMSU’s 5th annual tradition, Military and Veterans Appreciation Week, which focuses on enhancing and supporting NMSU’s military and veteran friendly community. Students, faculty, and staff who have served, past and present, are extremely valuable to us and we thank them deeply for their sacrifice and service!

 

Friday, November 8thNMSU Faculty & Staff Military Veteran Banquet

NMSU has a long history of faculty and staff military veterans who have added to the diversity and quality of our school. Your service is greatly appreciated and admired. In your honor, Military and Veterans Programs is hosting the fifth annual dinner from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in the NMSU Fulton Center 3rd floor Villanueva Victory Club. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Banquet Speaker is Retired Army Brigadier General Eric Sanchez.

– Las Cruces Veterans Parade
Downtown Las Cruces at 11 a.m. Army and Air Force ROTC will be marching in the parade. The Student Veterans Organization (SVO) will be representing NMSU’s military and veteran students in the parade. Visit the Las Cruces Veterans Day Parade website: http://www.lascrucesvetday.org

Tuesday, November 12th – Veterans Day Picnic
Military and Veterans Programs and the Student Veterans Organization of NMSU invite you to our annual VETERANS DAY PICNIC in honor of our military and veteran students. Information tables from different local Veteran Service Organizations will be available, including the Las Cruces Vet Center mobile van. FREE food provided by Borderland BBQ, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Garcia Center Courtyard (grassy area).

 

Wednesday, November 13thStudent Veterans Organization (SVO) Day
The Student Veterans Organization (SVO) of NMSU will set an information table from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. outside Corbett Center main entrance to learn about the SVO and issues concerning military and veteran students on campus. Enjoy FREE freshly popped popcorn while participating in fun yard games.

 

Thursday, November 14thROTC/Armed Forces Recruiters Day

Information tables from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the grassy area behind Young Hall.

Saturday, November 16thMilitary Appreciation Football Game
NMSU Aggies vs. UIW Cardinals at the Aggie Memorial Stadium at 2 p.m. The Student Veterans Organization of NMSU will tailgate from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. outside the Aggie Memorial Stadium. Go AGGIES! Buy your Tickets here!
